RSV (respiratory syncytial virus)

For the past couple days Braden has had a runny nose and a little cough, however, when he woke me up at 1am, 3am, and 5:30am (this time we just stayed up) it didn't seem like just a runny nose.

So at 8am I called the doctor and got him to be looked at. Sadly, RSV has been going around lately and so the doctor wanted to test Braden for that. Sure enough that is what he had. If you don't already know what that is, it is a virus common for infants to get and lasts 4-6 WEEKS, thats right weeks NOT days. SO runny nose, sore throat, and cough are the most common symptoms all of which Braden has...except the sore throat I am not sure about that one since he has not complained of that to me yet...but we will see. lol

This is just what we need right now, I mean we have already had one cold, sore throat, two ear infections, the flu, and now RSV. I guess he will build his immune system and be a healthy adult, at least one can only hope.

At least the doctor gave us some medicine to reduce the symptoms. I gave Braden some of it right away and within in thirty minutes he was out, and I mean he was OUT. He took a FIVE hour nap today, which was perfect for me so I could just keep working from home. I got a lot done while he slept.

So wish us luck for the next six weeks as we continue to use the snot sucker every hour...he really hates that part! I mean hates....lots of yelling and screaming. Baths should help to clear things up so he can breathe though. We just have to keep an eye on him so it doesn't get worse, and we can't take him to church this next Sunday.

This too shall pass....

Happy 19th Birthday David

Today David turned 19! This is one important birthday for him we are excited to have been able to celebrate it with him before he goes back to Washington. David and I went to lunch today together and had some great mexican food. Then planned for the evening was a little bowling and pizza. We met up with Aimee, Aaron and Michelle at The Rex to go bowling.

David opened his presents from Mom and Dad, Megan and Lance, and from Brian, Braden and I. He got Mario Cart for the Wii from mom and dad and some cool clothes, Megan and Lance got him an outfit....like he needs more clothes, but we got him a "birthday" shirt too, and a few things for missionary preperation: book; "What I Wished I'd Knew Before My Mission," journal, tie, and oil vile. Oh also big thanks to Aimee, Aaron, Michelle and Matt Mosley for the card and giftcard.

This is David posing with his new clothes....yes he is still the same goofy uncle dav. We love him.

So Braden thought he would help Uncle Dav open his presents tonight....if only Braden could have figured out how to do that just a few weeks ago with his own presents....

Thanks from David to everyone for all the great gifts.

Then we did cake and blowing out candles, as requested by David we had yellow cake with vanilla frosting. So since David likes peeps we incorporated those in the cake.
We want to thank David for the time he has spent here in our home and what a fun part of our family he has become over the past 8 months. We are grateful for the blessing he has been in our lives and Braden's...he will always remember you, I know he will miss you! We are proud of how you have grown while being away from home and here in Idaho, and know that as you continue to prepare to serve a mission you will be blessed. Keep going in an upward direction and you will get where you want to go. Keep being a good example for all of us. Happy 19th Birthday, we all hope you enjoyed your day!! :)

Love to my cousin

Auntie Meg, Kaylee and Grams came to Idaho to visit. Mainly because David was getting his wisdom teeth out and he needed his mama there. :) Luckily it fell the week of Braden's Birthday so they got to be at the party.
This photo was minutes after they arrived Wednesday evening, Braden went right over and started hugging his cousin Kaylee and tried picking her up. IT was the cutest thing I have ever seen, it was like he had really really missed her, remembered who she was, and wanted to show his counsinly love. The whole visit he just wanted to be with Kaylee and play with her and give her hugs. Now Kaylee is three months younger and not quite ready for her very active boy cousin to tackle her....so we tried to teach Braden to be gentle with her. Kaylee was a real sport and never got upset over it. I can't wait until they can see each other more often and play regularly together.

Braden's 1st Birthday! March 2nd

Braden turned one year old on March 2nd! You can see how big he is getting and how he is looking like such a little man! We chose to celebrate his big day when his Grammy and Auntie Meg and cousin Kaylee arrived...March 5th. BUT we did take a few photos on the actual day.
Braden with mom and dad in the morning before mom had to go to work...we opened one little toy truck.
Then that night with the pjs that Uncle Dav bought..aren't they super cute...Tow Mater.
We did take Braden out for ice cream that night, since he LOVES ice cream, but I usually don't let him eat too much of it.

We had a dino themed birthday party for Braden. Grammy helped to pull of this dino event. We had "Baby Rex Ribs", teradacktal tenders (chicken), and dinosaur eggs (twice baked potatoes)...oh and dino shaped chicken nuggets for the little kids. Making Braden's cake was fun, we decided to make two different ones...

As soon as we starting singing to Braden, he got this giant smile on his face. Then we placed the cake in front him...at first he was a little timid to dive in and so we had to help him out a little. After eating, singing, and cake we opened up LOTS of presents. Since we had lots of family and friends....well and first baby for mom and dad I do have to say Braden had a crazy amount of presents. Ashlyn and Elly helped Braden open them all. He got fun toys, lots of books, new clothes including summer shorts and swimming trunks! I think Braden's favorite part though was the giant 17" balloons I had at his party. He loved playing with those.

Valentine's Day

Our family went to a ward Valentine's party where Braden enjoyed busting out his best dance moves, I joined in the limbo contest....and actually did really well, and Brian ate good food. This is Braden giving mom kisses, I love these slobbery baby kisses.

I was able to get a really good video of Braden walking..since he began this just a week or so ago.

Braden loved the party, he is just a real outgoing kid and he joined in with the dancing groups of others in our ward.

The next day, which was Valentine's Day and my 25th Birthday..yippee was also a good one.

Brian made breakfast for me: waffles, with strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries with whipped cream...and a side of bacon. We then spent the remainder of the afternoon relaxing a bit, then i got some fun gifts from Brian, Braden and David....new purse, shirt, and necklace....cute shoes from my sis and new make up from Vickie's from my mom and dad.

Brian and I then went into Idaho Falls and did some shopping then went to dinner at Ruby River Steakhouse. Good day. I am gratefull to have such a wonderful family and sweet husband. I love you all!
