FHE: Feeding the Ducks

Braden loves to feed the ducks...so for FHE that is exactly what we did. He is pretty good at throwing the bread to them; however, there were a few times that he was a little slow to throw his piece of bread and these anxious ducks snatched the whole piece right from his hands. At first it didn't bother him, but the ducks kept getting closer and closer and that made Braden a little nervous. As you can see from his funny little expressions he wasn't quite sure what to think about all these ducks. He sure had fun! I can never figure out how these ducks can eat so much sticken bread....us along with 5 other families where there and I am sure we weren't the only ones there that night...FHE in Rexburg means a feast for these little guys.

The wind up...this kid is going to be a pitcher I just know it!

19lbs lighter

So I would never normally post something like this....but I guess a step into the abnormal once in a while is necessary.

So I joined this weight loss challenge group....
I had been doing it on my own for a couple months and thought this would be a good way to stay on track and lead me to my new healthy lifestyle. And I love it!

So far to date I have lost 19 lbs...YEAH! ONly 22 more to go...yikes! I have not yet calculated the inches, but I can totally tell the inches are happening faster then the pounds....2 pant sizes smaller. Yeah for getting my body back.

It is NEVER going to take me this long (1.5 years) to loose the "baby" weight...I know it is not just the baby, I totally gained weight after I delivered him, go figure.

Anyways back to my happy news...of the 19 lbs. Just have to keep up my 3lbs a week and I will be there in 7 weeks. OH that sounds like so long.

Sun Valley

Brian and I had a fun weekend get away to Sun Valley! Our plan was to camp one night and then stay in the lodge the next; HOWEVER, there has been a bear problem in the area....SO Brian and I thought it would be better to avoid getting eaten by a bear. So we left our trunk full of all our camp gear and stayed at the lodge for both nights. Although I was a little bummed about not camping I do have to admit it was nice to be pampered for an extra day.
Friday night we ate at the Sawtooth Club on the roof, a club in Ketchum. Brian had crab legs in his dish...this is his first attempt at cracking them. Our food was really good. We spent most of htat day shopping in Ketchum, and we were glad to go back to our hotel to rest...way too much walking in heels!
Saturday morning we ate breakfast and then enjoyed some time at the Spa. Brian had a massage and I had a massage and a pedicure. You can see my cute toes...LOVE that pink.
This is our room. It was nice, except seriously the mattresses in hotels are NEVER comfortable, but their pillows were good.
We also went golfing..well putt golfing. It was a really fabulous golf club....next time brian can spend 18 holes, equivelant to 5 hours on the course...and I will spend the whole day at the spa. :)
I did get a hole in one and Brian didn't...hehe.
Saturday night we went to a fun ice show. We upgraded our tickets to that as well so we had a lovely seat on the terrace, outdoor heating lamps (it gets really cold out there at night), blankets, and the best part, the dessert buffet. I should have gotten a picture of that....but every yummy dessert you can think of was there. NOT so good for the diet, but it was delish!
Sunday morning we joined the Sunday Brunch in this beautiful room and ate LOTS of yummy foods. Omlets, crepes, salmon, cheeses, fruit, eggs benedict, and more...yeah we ate a lot. AND just before we left we were able to get a photograph together....the hard part about traveling with only two of you. You can see the swans in the background. This is in front of the pond at the entrance to the lodge. And that swan did pose just for me!
A BIG thank you to Melissa and Jessica for watching Braden for us over the weekend. Don't worry we brought them chocolate and fudge! Braden was really happy to see us as you can see he missed his daddy, and we missed him!

Happy Birthday Grandma Mickie

Grandma Mickie's Birthday was on August 13th, and we did a suprise party out at Jared and Brooke's for her. We grilled chicken, eat yummy veggies and fruit, and little red potatoes. I made a cherry pie for her birthday as requested :) I also made a strawberry pie...they were yummy!! We did presents and the kids had fun playing in the living room. We got a few pictures.

Braden's first Baseball Game

We got free tickets to go to the Chuckars Baseball game from the Rexburg Chamber so we went and invited Aimee and Aaron to also go. For only $3 each we were able "upgrade" them for better seats. We were only able to stay for half the game since it was getting into Braden's bedtime and he was getting a little grumpy. It was a fun Tuesday night activity last week!

Grandma's Birthday in Utah

We went down to Ogden on August 8th for Great Grandma's Birthday, she turned 66! We stayed with Great Aunt Peggy and her family and celebrated there. We didn't get many pictures, but we did get one when we went to Temple Square. Sunday morning Brian, Braden, and I went there to show Braden the temple. He LOVES temples, especially, Moroni on top. He points him out in every picture, book, or at the Rexburg Temple. He calls him "ni-ni" this is them looking at Moroni in the reflecting pond. And I am in the photo too...my shadow, haha.

Porter Park Picnic

We spent the afternoon at Porter park enjoying some grilled chicken, fruit, and a pasta salad..yum! Braden had fun watching the squirls and wrestling with dad, yep we are training him young...he won't be pinned great little archer!

4th of July in Washington

We made the drive to Washington for the 4th of July this year to see my family. We had lots of fun, especially Braden, who got to play with his favorite Uncle David and cousin Kaylee. We went to North West Trek, on wagon rides, and to Lance's family's lake house on the fourth.

Braden had fun playing in my parents backyard, and as you can see he was very excited to see Kaylee again. Kissing cousins isn't it cute.

They really did have fun in the wagon even though the look a little worried.

4th of July in Washington - North West Trek

This was a very full weekend, lots of fun! Braden had fun seeing all the animals, and papa had fun showing him all the animals.

Lake House on the 4th

I took a few pictures of Kaylee for Megan while we were at the lake. That was fun cause we put her in the water with a little American flag.

June finally some sun

During the end of May and into the month of June, Rexburg received over thirty days of rain, YIKES! Almost like we were living in Seattle, except without the beautiful trees and my favorite mountain.
So Braden enjoyed being outside everyday, playing with teh neighbor kids, Brooklyn and Logan and Pheonix (the dog). He loves riding in the little car.
Now this dog likes to carry balls in his mouth all the time and all the other kids, even the older ones who are like seven years old cannot get this ball out of the dogs mouth. Either they are afraid of his teeth or he runs too fast...but not for Braden he walks right up to him and takes the ball or bone right out of his mouth.

Mesa Falls for Mother's Day

We drove up to Mesa Falls for lunch on Mother's Day. The waterfalls were beautiful; however, they scared me to death having Braden up there. He remained strapped in his stroller....except for the few photos we took. It was a great day, glad to have my mom here!
