Snow Day

First snow of the season and we were all over it! The boys both loved it!

Daddy built a snowman with Braden and they were quite proud of it.

We took a walk around the neighborhood on this lovely Snowy Sunday and when we got back Braden had to build another one....so I did this one with him!

Every time Emmitt looks outside at the snow he says "brrrrr brrrrr", on that note he also can say the word snow! Which is quite exciting given that his vocabulary is quite small right now.

Sunbeams

Braden had his first day of Primary, he is now a little sunbeam!! He was really excited to go to Primary and be with all his pre-school friends! While we drove home from church he told me all about the singing and game they played. But most importantly he told me all about the rules in Primary, glad something stuck!

New Year's Eve

This New Year's Eve was a labor of love! We chaparoned the stake youth dance. Luckily my parents came along since all our friends bailed on us! (jk friends) We decided to make the most of it and went to dinner at Red Lobster (my dad's request and Anthony's was booked). The dance brought back lots of my favorite memories as a YW, since I went to a dance every Saturday night! All I wanted to do was bust out my best dance moves with everyone else!! But I resisted for the most part so I didn't embarrass my dear young women. However, Brian and I got in one slow dance, and I got one with my dad...oh and my dad and I did join in on the electric slide....man I forgot how long that song is! I am thinking a night out dancing will be in my near future since I had to be a fly on the wall at this one!

Friday night before we took the boys to Jumping Jacks for a little fun. Emmitt LOVED the slide...he got brave enough to go on his own. I discovered this because every time I climbed those stairs and sat down with him he about jumped out of my arms to go down. HE just flew down. Excuse the video that is sideways.

This is one Braden's favorite places...I think we need to advance to Charlie Safari one of these days since he pretty much only plays on this slide. I must say though it is my favorite too.

Christmas 2011

At Grandma and Grandpa Lundholm's House for Christmas 2011!

We did a lot of playing in the four days we were there. Braden did LOTS of puzzels, played a little Mario with Grandma and Daddy, read book, and played the piano.

This year's country was Ireland so we enjoyed some yummy dishes native to the country and learned about their holiday traditions. We also dressed up as the nativity and read the story of Christ's birth. Will insert those photos when I get them. We opened presents that night with all the family, sang christmas carols, and put on our christmas jammies.

Then Chritmas morning we opened a few gifts before we went to church and got to hear Grandma and Grandpa in the choir.

Christmas Morning Aunt Jessica had to wake Braden up and then they came in and got Brian and I and then we got Emmitt....so he was a little sleepy while looking in his stocking to see what Santa had brought. He woke up as soon as there were packages to open!

6 am and we are off to Idaho! Guess it was too early for Braden to open his eyes, LOL.

Braden and Emmitt did a pretty good job on our 13 hour drive! Braden loved his new car activities and his tin full of his very own snacks!

Shoes off of course, Emmitt takes his shoes and socks off immediately every time we get in the car. We made four stops on the way and each time I had to find his socks and shoes amongst all the treats and toys that kept him happy this was nearly impossible and I think each time he did a better job of hiding them.

We made it safely to Grandma and Grandpa's house Wednesday night! Let the fun begin!

Christmas Party

Since we are going to Idaho for Christmas this year we had a Christmas Party with my family a week before. Uncle Kevin and Uncle Dav got all the kids new pjs. We enjoyed opening presents and ate Sue's Burritos (our family's traditional holiday get together always involved Mexican food, my grandma always made these burritos, with lots of yummy toppings).

Emmitt is eating some of the yummy cake Auntie Meg made.

We had the boys open a few of the presents we got them early since we couldn't fit all of them in the car. Braden got a new bike! Emmitt got Mr. Potato head which he thinks is so funny. I got some super cute boots! Which I will wear in our family photos in case you would like to see them.

I love the children's section of the library there is so much to do other than read books! Emmitt loved the computer, the blocks, the puzzels, and climbing on the chairs. Braden and I found a lot of good books this time! He couldn't wait to get home and read them all!

Fire station

We took a field trip to the fire station for preschool.

All the kids listened very carefully while the firemen taught them about the truck and what kind of gear they wear. Even Emmitt listed carefully!

Emmitt also loved the tires...guess I would too if they were as big as me.

The fireman were good about telling the kids that he would look a little different with his mask on but that it helped him when he was in a fire. Braden got a little nervous but was ok once he took it off.

Braden and Emmitt were really excited to wear the hat. Emmitt was so funny cause as soon as the fireman put the hat on his head he got very serious. Of course it probably felt really heavy. We enjoyed the fire department. Next the boys and I were off to the library!

Christmas Tree

Now that we are back in the great northwest we decided we should defiantly have a real Christmas tree this year. First one that we have had!! So we set out to find the best one, Braden spotted a perfect noble for us and so Brian cut it down and we took it home! I also got all new ornaments for this tree I will add the finished product soon!

During November Grandma and Aunt Jessica came to see us, I think Grandma took all the photos, guess I'll have to get a copy of those....but for now here are a few random daily events at our house this month. Emmitt, Braden, and Brian can often be found playing Mario.

One of Emmitt's daily activities is to empty the pantry and all my kitchen cupboards.

This month Emmitt's vocabulary has tripled! Here he is pointing out the lights, one of his favorite words and things to point at.

The boys both love climbing into any kind of box....braden is showing Emmitt how it is done.

This month also began Braden's photography fun. He took a great picture of Emmitt and I. Better than his usual up close shots or pics of the walls I must say.

Emmitt started hanging from the stair rail so Braden had to show him up of course.

Halloween

For Halloween this year we decided we should take Braden trick or treating for the first time. We usually just hung out with our friends or family or did ward truck or treats. This year we wanted Braden to go with his best pal Kyle to load up on candy. Saturday we joined the Stucki's who joined the Wall's at a trunk or treat...since our wards was on Halloween we chose to do this one. Then on Halloween we all set out in our neighborhood to fill up our candy buckets....and we scored....lots and lots of candy! Way too much candy. Since I never buy any Braden thought this was totally cool. We had to stop by our house to off load our first buckle fulls oh and the candy the moms had stashed in our pockets.

Brandon and Brian went back to our own houses to pass out candy while Becca, the kids, and I went out. Since Braden chose to dress up as a knight this year, it was only fitting to have Emmitt be a dragon. We then went back to the Stucki's to sort candy and enjoy and "adult" treat....cookie dough, Oreo, brownie bar Brian and I made. I little rich but fun to make!

Earlier that day Braden and I did carve a couple pumpkins...Braden was our photographer for this event so excuse my photo where I chose not to get ready for the day until after pumpkin carving.

Braden is posing like he is getting out the guts....but in reality he was to grossed out to do this part, so mom got to do it. He did do an excellent job of coloring on the pumpkins with markers. I guess we took no pics of the finished products. Braden had requested a bat and a scary face. So I attempted to carve the requests. Happy Halloween.

PreSchool Fun

For H this week we learned about hands, houses, and hot dogs, or and horses! We worked on counting things up to 20 and we made hot dogs in a blanket. The kids all loved learning about how to make dough and what yeast was. While our dough was resting we painted paper hot dogs and build a house out of an H. Then when our dough was ready we rolled it and wrapped it around our hot dogs....this was a fun lunch. These two were very proud of their hot dogs.

In October we took the kids to Lattin's Cider Mill for a field trip!

During D week we made Doughnuts, yum. We shook them in white bags filled with cinnamon and sugar and sprinkles. Hallie is for sure the girl in the group, measuring everything very carefully.

We also painted ducks, these kids LOVE to paint....I think because it involves getting a little messy, thank goodness for washable paint.

Here we are before we played a game involving our senses. They eat took a turn choosing something to observe with the senses to discover what it was. Some things were a little tricky like butternut squash and basil (braden totally got that one though...my little chef must know mommy loves to cook with fresh basil). Hallie was the most brave and tasted everything, I sure tricked them with the salt they all thought was sugar. This was a pretty fun one!

Pumpkin Patch...

One sunny October day a few weeks back the boys and I meet Grammy, Auntie Meg, Kaylee, and Emma at the pumpkin patch here in Lacey. This place has the best petting zoo ever! No one guarding the animals (like the fair), you can just go in and out of their little homes as you please. The kids loved it! Emmitt especially liked the goats! No fear! I realized I mostly took pics of Emmitt this time instead of Braden, which is okay because Braden is usually front and center in all the other photos.

He also thought they needed some more food.

The kids all loved riding in the wheel barrows. We didn't get a picture of the soft fuzzy caterpillar we found...but I spotted a furry little guy near the barns and all the kids that it was pretty cool!

We took a hay ride around the pumpkin patch, and Braden was a little scared but as long as he was holding grams hand he was a ok!

Not sure if Emmitt liked the slide or not...I think there was a little smile in there.

Braden couldn't get enough of the ducks floating down the river...pump pump pump! Those things are a work out for your arm! Sure glad we have running water.

Emmitt found these holes fascinating...he loved getting his foot stuck in the holes! Strange child.

We also enjoyed a little pumpkin bowling! Emmitt totally picked up this pumpkin and carried it around, well he made it like three steps but it was super heavy for him.

Choices choices choices

Last Saturday grandma and grandpa came to visit us again!!! It was such a nice day we immediately took them to the pumpkin patch to enjoy the sun! Braden took his time picking out the BEST pumpkin.

I think he's the best little pumpkin!!

I think Grandpa gave Emmitt this giant spoon to eat with...maybe all the other spoons were dirty....It was pretty funny cause he actually tried eating with it.

A little cleaning while Grandma was here...Emmitt thought he'd help out.

Every night there was LOTS and LOTS of playing. Braden's favorite game involved Grandpa flying this little spin toy upstairs to him, then him throwing it back down...over and over and over again. Grandpa was such a good sport playing with Braden! I don't think his energy ever runs out, if only we could all have the same amount of enthusiasm as this little three year old.

Fair Date

Braden and mommy had a date at the fair together so we could do the rides and eat yummy food! We met Aunt Meg and Kaylee and rode the bus down to the fair....both daddys had to work at the fair so we said hi to them and then back to the rides we went.

Braden specifically requested lemonade, corn, and the blue cotton candy. He ate this giant sugary fluff all by himself! He also won a duck playing a fishing game which we left on a ride. So I went back to claim our missing duck and saw that another little girl had taken it. I tried to get it from her but then her mom informed me she brought it on the ride....oops...wrong race car, I felt a little dumb. We found the duck in the other blue car.

We rode on the foot massage ride, Braden thought that one was kind of funny. But since his legs weren't long enough to reach he stood on my feet so he could feel the vibrations. Then we headed to the train...the one ride I went on $3 worth of fun!

We had fun being in the sun...just can't get enough of this great summer weather (finally). Ya, none of the kids are paying any attention to Auntie Meg with the camera, or at least are not smiling. Emma was doing such a good job walking today....we kept practicing with her. Emmitt does a great job of standing but he is a little too laid back and doesn't seem to care too much. On a happier note he cut his 8th tooth today, this explains his super grumpy behavior the past two days. Emmitt also turned 15 months yesterday! He is starting to look so old.

Labor Day 2011

For Labor Day we took a little family vacation...to our backyard. We set up the tent and attempted to stay the night there on Friday. Braden was so excited about the tent he was up just about every two minutes. So we roasted marshmellows over our charcoal chimney and called it a night. Braden slept in his bed with a sleeping bag instead. SO much for our camp out. It was still fun! The next morning we went to NW Trek. Braden loved all the animals and the train (tram)ride!! Emmitt loved seeing the bears and the birds, and this giant tree stump.

After NW Trek we had a great BBQ with Papa!!

Grandma & Grandpa for 4th of July

This year Brian's parents came to visit us for the 4th of July!!

Since their last visit it did nothing but rain we tried to enjoy the sun while it lasted. We spent one afternoon at the farmers market and took them to one of our favorite little places in downtown Olympia...Cascadia Grill.

Elly (boys cousin) left her glasses in Grandma's van the week before so we thought it would be fun to include them on our adventures so Elly could see all the things her glasses got to see. We took them to Lattin's one more to feed the animals and get some homemade donuts.

Cascadia even provided fake pizza as an appetizer!

We also went to Ocean Shores on the 4th so we could have a day at the "beach"...not really my idea of a beach but since I don't recall ever going there we went...next time I think we will drive a little farther south...the wind about did us in. Everyone stuck it out pretty well and we had our BBQ...then we packed up and got out of that wind. More pics on that to come in next post....soon as I can find my cord to download my pics from my other camera since my card reader is not working! I think my camera hates me right now since everything on it is breaking!

Lattin's Cider Mill With The Boys

On Saturday, June 5th we went to this cute little place called Lattin's Cider Mill. On the weekends they sell fresh homemade apple fritters. YUM! They also sell produce and meat that they have grown and raised right there on the farm. To start off Braden went straight for the john deer bike. There were lots of little bikes and 50 cent rides the kids could go on. After Braden rode around for a while we we off to the animals. For 60 cents you can buy a bag of food to feed the animals. We mainly fed the goats, that was a little crazy cause the big mamma goat about ripped the bag out of my hand and trampled her babies just to get to the food. I guess was one hungry nursing mamma. Too bad I didn't get a photo of that, but she probably would have eaten my camera. Braden was a little afraid of the goats since she was being I little aggressive. However, he loved the chickens, pigs, ducks, bunnies, cows, and the many birds.

This peacock was great! He sure was showing off and making a lot of noise!

I have never seen one so close with its feathers all out, pretty cool.

Emmitt loved the pig, I was hoping pigs don't bite since he was sticking his little fingers in the cage. Emmitt is such a sweet little boy, I just love him so much!!

He is just so adorable! Love his sweet face in this picture. Me on the other hand, I think I was laughing at Brian who was taking the photos...not sure what Brian was doing to be so funny.

1 Year Photos With Emmitt

HappY BiRthDaY Emmitt!!

Today I couldn't help but remember the birth of our little Emmitt, the week he spent in the NICU felt like forever in that moment. Today I look back and think how blessed I am it was only a week and that we have a happy healthy little one year old boy. Here are a few pictures of our past year with Emmitt.

Very happy mamma to take our Emmitt home after holding him all week with so many tubes coming out of him, now he is tube free.

He has such pretty lips...guess he got those from me :)

Well he didn't stay tiny for very long, he turned into our little chunky baby for a while.

Finally moving around helped to thin hi out a bit....and you can totally see how much his face shape looks like Braden's and Brian's, even if the rest of him looks more like me.

So the month of May was still a little chilly here in WA...and the kids wanted to play outside. Since we were at Meg's all our options were pink. Braden didn't mind, hey he is only three.

Papa came over one Saturday to build us a garden box and he did a little lawn make over. I will have to post more pictures of the finished product later.

Braden was Papa's little helper, handing him the screws he needed. Soon as Papa got out his drill Braden says, "I'll be right back I need to get my tools." What a boy.

Easter Sunday! After church we headed over to Puyallup for dinner with the family at my Mom and Dads. We tried to get a few family photos in the small window of no rain. As you can see my hair was hammered from the rain...lovely! Emmitt was being kind of grumpy at first so we didn't get a great family photo...but it was fun to where nice new clothes to church. And of course I tried to coordinate our outfits. I'm nerdy like that.

Still trying to figure out how we managed to take no photos of David, Megan, and Mom. But they were there too!

I guess all it took was getting Aunt Meg out there to bring out the smiles in Emmitt.

Normally I'd like to do the egg hunts on Saturday, but since we all could only get together on Sunday we did a fun egg hunt for the little kids in the backyard, oh and then the rest of us joined in. Thanks Aunt Meg for helping me with the egg hunt and for bringing some sweet prizes for everyone to share! The kids really enjoyed searching for the eggs.

Kaylee was really good at spying the hard eggs, don't worry Braden girls are just more observant! Kaylee was sweet enough to share this egg with Braden.

Papa helped hide some of them and that meant they were much harder to get to then the ones Meg and I hide...but he was good at helping the kids get to them.

Las Vegas Baby!

We checked into The Palazzo Hotel on Sunday afternoon the day before the New Business Owners Conference hosted by American Family Insurance...nice hotel! A lot like the Venetian which is where I stayed last time I was in Vegas...they are connected to each other guess it makes sense.

The first night AmFam hosted a tailgate party to what the Championship Basketball Game.

We took a little walk afterwards...and yes little...I was in some pretty HOT shoes! Which means they are about 2 hour shoes and not meant for walking so we stopped into the local Walgreens for some flip flops...who forgets flip flops when going to vegas, oh I did.

This is proof that blue sky still exists somewhere in the world since I haven't seen it in at least a month back in WA. And those are my toes to prove I was at the pool...since I was by myself I just read in the sun....lovely! I even got a little pink glow!

Of course we stopped into the Mac store on our way to dinner in the Caesar Forum Shops.

OH ya this was a business conference so this is us in our rooms before we went to hear Lou Holtz speak. What an amazing guy!

Thanks mom for watching our little boys and even sick little Emmitt. Glade they could spend time with Gram and Pop. We headed back to the overcast sky of WA on Wednesday....wish we could have brought the sun with us...but no as we walked outside it was of course raining. Guess that's why we have such green trees.

This year we did things a little different for Braden's Birthday. Usually we do a themed party (well I guess he's only had two birthdays before this one) with a lot of food that ties into that theme, since I love to throw parties with great food....however, this year we hopped aboard the thomas train and went with a good old pizza party. Braden loves Thomas and any train he sees. So my sister and I made a Thomas cake. We just enjoyed dinner, cake, and presents with our family at Round Table this year.
I don't think this kid held still all night....pretty sure all pics of Braden there is some form of blurry motion, errr. You would think someone who didn't know what they were doing was behind this camera tonight, but no it was me...sad to admit that one.

Tonight Emmitt enjoyed pretty much everything we ate. He was loving my peas, olives, eggs, and chicken from my salad.

When Auntie Meg asked Braden what he wanted for his birthday he said, a dinasour, then he added that he wanted Rex.

So Emmitt really continued enjoyed his food tonight, while I was helping with Braden's presents I turn around to see this....Emmitt had grabbed my plate and threw the pizza on the floor and started chompin down on my bread stick. Remember now, he only has two teeth...he acts like he has a mouthful, that's my boy....takes after his mamma, he loves food.

Braden was a little intense in the candles blowing out, kind of like a rocker at a concert. He was so cute when we were all singing to him, with a smile from ear to ear.

Papa and Grammy got him this sweeet skooter complete with helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves! He rode it all over the house, in the garage and driveway when we got home.

SNOW...NO SNOW...SNOW

When we woke up to snow Braden was so excited to go outside and build a snowman, but by the time we made it outside this is all the snow Braden was able to scoop up. Emmitt also got to enjoy a few flakes that day...outside loving the bumbo.

So the next morning there was a lot more snow outside and so during Emmitt's morning nap we made it back outside to attempt making a snowman.

This is our snowman...the snow wasn't so great for making a snow man but we tried. Braden was proud of it.

So this kid can't handle getting snow on his gloves, or dirt or anything on him really. He kept taking them off to clean them. I finally taught him it was okay to get snow on his gloves so he finally left them on and just dusted them off EVERY time.

We sure had fun!

Tonight during bath time I put Emmitt in with Braden, the water was kind of deep for him but he LOVED it. He learned that when you hit the water it slashes and so he kept doing it. He would giggle when Braden hit the water and then do it himself. Emmitt was laughing so hard and Braden loved that. So I had to snap a few pics of their fun.

Even with all the water in his face he loved it, no crying just giggles!

The more serious splashes are not on camera for fear of soaking it...since I was pretty much soaked afterwards!

President's Weekend

We got to have family over for this president's weekend! Grandma, Grandpa, Great-Grandma, and Aunt Jessica flew in on Friday to see us! We had such a fun time with them in our home, there was lots and lots of laughing and playing....special thanks to Aunt Jessica for following Braden around all weekend he sure loves you! When I got back from my massage that afternoon I was welcomed by family playing with my boys and all sorts of new puzzels and books for Braden. Even Great Grandma was down on the floor putting the puzzels together with Braden. These puzzels are pretty sweet they are 2x3 feet and Braden was so good at putting them together. You could see the wheels turning as he was trying to figure out where the pieces went. He is so smart! That night we had my family over too and celebrated my birthday together. It was a sweet family dinner party. We had grilled kabobs with chicken, squash, onions, peppers, and grilled pineapple atop a bed of indian rice pilaf with currants and pine nuts (SO GOOD), accompanied by a mango salad with a sweet cilantro lime dressing. All made by mamma...the best chef ever! Loved every bite! My sister made snickers pie. I apparently deleted the one photo of me blowing out my candles. errrr

Saturday we took everyone downtown to the water. Don't be fooled by the sun, it was freezing outside so we weren't out there for long. Just long enough to check this 100 year old tug boat called the Sand Man. Braden loved being on a boat!

Valentine's Treats

We made quite a few treats this past weekend for some valentines fun....cupcakes with braden.

We had some buscuits and sausage gravy one morning for breakfast, I even turned the gravy pink for fun. Brian wasn't too sure about eating it cause of the color, come on think green eggs and ham, it tastes the same.

Brian's 30th Birthday at the Waterfront

Happy Birthday Sister

Happy Birthday Megs! My sister turned 25 on January 8th and so we threw a little fiesta! We attempted to make one of us girls' favorite salads served at Bajio's, a place we ate at in Rexburg a lot. With all the yummy toppings that included at least 10 different things all piled in our home made tortilla bowls, we topped it off with a cilantro lime dressing. We also served Brazilian limeades!! Above is the cake I made meg. It was an almond cake, with raspberry cream cheese filling (6 layers) and a butter cream frosting on the outside. Since I decided not to do a fondant on the outside this time we (Braden and I) decorated with some fun fake flowers and ribbon.

My mom even has Fiesta plates made by my Grandma...something with our family and mexican food....we even make our own plates. LOL

So Megan and I were attempting to take a nice sister photo...but we couldn't get Megan to be serious....not sure why.

We could not get Emmitt to smile. This kid has the greatest smile off camera, then you put a camera in front of him and he gets so serious. Braden on the other hand is a little ham and always yells at the top of his lounges "cheeesssse" course we can't get him to not move when saying it. Well for a timer photo at the end of church this is the best we got.

Christmas morning!!!!

We had my parents and David over Christmas Eve so they could be here the next morning. I got to visit Kevin that evening while my mom cooked up a dish from Spain. In Brian's family they learn about and eat food from a different country on Christmas Eve. This year it was Spain. My wonderful friend Nicole, who served a mission there gave us some good recipes!! Pretty much they eat a lot of sea food, which was great for me....she said plates and plates of shrimp. So we embrassed this idea. I was pretty lame in the picture department this year for Christmas. Time to pull out my camera and start being a photographer again. One of my goals for the new year. SO all we have are a few shots of the boys in the morning. And a miserable attempt at a timer family photo inside with no help from our big windows that bring in natural light...it was too dark for their assistance. For Christmas this year we were grateful to be together as a family...living together in the house, in the same state.

Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents house. My mom made a lovely feast that I got to help a little with, I am pretty sure I made the sweet potatoes/yams which ever...oh and I peeled potatoes. Since we just moved she just had us over and so I didn't really get to bring anything. Since it was Meg's year to be with Lance's family it was just us, my parents, brother David, and Grandma and Grandpa. Braden had so much fun playing with Great Grandpa. Who thinks he is still young enough to play trains on the floor. They were instant best pals.

The Forgotten Carols

For my mom's birthday she wanted to take the entire family to The Forgotten Carols. So she purchased A LOT of tickets, while only six of us ended up going from our family, my mom was able to give the other tickets away to some friends and we even found a couple on the streets of Seattle wondering what was going on so my dad offered the tickets to them....Merry Christmas he said. What fun! It was great to see this is Seattle since it had become a tradition in Idaho to see it the week of Thanksgiving. Always a good reminder of what Christmas is all about.

We MOVED...

So back on November 20, 2010 we completed loading the uhaul, packed all the kids up and we moved to Lacey, WA. Just in time to miss a major snow storm that hit Twin Falls we made it to Lacey about 11 hours later.
I am now attempting to catch up on the past two months since we've been in Washington, now that I have internet! Since my only internet was my phone I wasn't able to post.
First a BIG thanks to my sister and brother David for their help in getting us moved here. And to my parents who showed up at our new home that night around 9pm with a warm yummy dinner and hands to help us get our beds moved in. The rest waited until the next day. Since Brian was really sick and had been for the past month we didn't quite have the will power to unload that night especailly since Brian drove the all 11 hours in that uHaul with David as his wing man and Megan drove the van while I tended to the four kids (2 two years olds, and 2 5 month olds). If I remember right the kids were sick too...such fun!
We managed the next few days to get most everything put away before Thanksgiving.

SO on Monday, November 8th we set out in Meg's sweeet mini van, just 4 kids, 2 moms, and 1 uncle dav. Megan was our first driver for our 10 hour expidition to Twin Falls. We all had a pretty good time and thanks to movies, lots of snacks, and a few toys we kept Kaylee and Braden occupied and the babies did pretty well eating and sleeping a lot.
We took shifts driving and rotated tending to the babies in the back.

Can you see Braden holding Kaylee's hand? This was a frequent uccurance on our little drive.

We spent the week of Halloween at Grammy's and Papa's...We raked lots of leaves, played with lots of toys, and had lots of fun. Papa playing with the both boys below and Braden sporting Uncle Dav's hat above....

We then packed a small bag to head back to Idaho to pack up our home to move to WA. We took a few other people with us on our journey back, more to come on the adventures of 4 kids, 2 moms, and 1 uncle.

A touch of spring and fall on our plates....since we had beautiful blooming flowers and tons of falling leaves in the backyard.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at my mom's house while were there a week ago...First we started off with my moms french onion soup (many hourse are spent making the real thing! thanks mom) it was fabulous, with giant homemade croutons.

Then we moved onto our main course of fresh scallops YUM! over a puree of butternut squash, topped with a most delious butter, garlic glaze, and other yumminess. This meal was AMAZING

Followed by pumpkin pie....didn't picture that opps.

On Saturday, we went to my parents ward halloween carnival. Braden enjoyed playing games and trick or treating with Kaylee. We all went as pirates, Kaylee as little red riding hood, emma a bee, lance a pirate and meg as tink.

Halloween Party

After being in Washington we came home for a week and and attended our our ward Halloween Party. Brian was a football player, and as pictured above Emmitt was a bat, Braden a monkey, and I was Tinker Bell. Braden got to trick or treat and he thought that was pretty fun.

While Brian went back to work in Washington we stayed in Twin and got our bags packed again and get our hourse in order to head back to Washington.

During the week I kept busy with Relief Society activity, Jewelry Party, making hair bows, photographing some cute girls. It was a fun week!

Sadly, it was the last week to see my dear friend Nicole, who went to see family for the month of November. So we said our goodbyes, since I won't get to see her and her girls again before we move. A few pics of her girls will be posted shortly. Thank you Nicole for being the biggest blessing to me in Twin Falls, I am so grateful for a friend like you! Hope to see you again soon. I learned so much from you! And not just hair bows and canning....lol. Love you and your family!!

We came to WA on a kind of spontaneously a few weeks ago and stayed for two weeks. This is me recapping that trip. We of course had to make a trip to Spooners...Braden had fallen asleep and so he was a little grumpy...sadly...so we tried to cheer him up.

Emmitt on the other hand was happy as usual and enjoying his first class ride in the wheel barrow, chauferred by uncle dav.

Emmitt is 4 Months....already!

Emmitt is 4 months today!
He is 17lbs, yikes!! That's 2 lbs in 2 months.
And look at those blue eyes!

Over this past weekend he grew up...he is now rolling onto his side and trying really hard to make it onto his tummy, hold toys and sucking on them, and when I hold a toy in front of him he thinks about it for a minute then slowly reaches up and tries grabbing for the toy. YAY! Oh the little things we have to learn. Such a fun milestone.

He is being Mr. Serious in these pics, but he has the sweetest smile. He is super happy and giggles a lot, mainly at me. He is really ticklish! He is the BEST baby! I didn't know babies could sleep so well and be so happy this little (this was not my experience with the first). Emmitt is pretty happy as long as he is fed, changed and not tired. He still eats quite frequently; however, we have progressed to every three hours most of the time because we have started rice cereal and or bananas once a day. Can't wait for him to get to try all sorts of other yummy foods. Braden ate anything as a baby so hopefully Emmitt will enjoy food as much as he did. He goes to bed about 8pm, eats once at night then sleeps til about 7am. He still naps 4 times a day, 3 shorter ones and 1 longer in the afternoon. I am hoping we can get to 2 long naps soon and move to sleeping through the night. He has slept through the night several times but was going to bed later and waking up earlier to eat, like 5am. So I am much happier with his current schedule. He loves bath time! He loves Braden! When Braden isn't being loud and all smothery he loves watching Braden. He of course loves Daddy and Mommy and we love him!!

Moving to Washington....

So yes, the news is true I AM MOVING HOME! This post is dedicated to the MANY reasons why I love Washington, but particularly why I love the Pacific Northwest/Puget Sound/Home of Mt. Rainier whatever you want to call it.
First, I must begin with Mt. Rainer the backdrop of my life until age 18. Above is my parent's neighborhood and the magnificent Mt. Rainier. Below is Brian and I hiking the foot hills. Oh how I have missed seeing you these past 8 years.

On the piers of the Seattle water front I took Brian when we were first engaged...we haven't been back for a while, so this is on the top of our to sees when we return to WA.

Space Needle....a classic....yummy food on top. I actually never ate up there until I lived in Idaho and went back for work. However, I have been to it several times before that. Now I need to take Brian up there, oh so many great things for him to see. SO in no particular order I have found photos to show all the sweet things WA has to offer.

Eagles! This is an important one. While I was growing up my mom always pointed out when she saw a bald eagle, she believes after this life she will get to work with the eagles...they are amazing birds. You also can check them out of close and personal at Point Defiance Zoo and aquarium, another fun thing I grew up doing. Brian and I have been there together too.

Ferry Rides.....for pleasure or just commuting.

City lights....can't wait for city night life! Not sure Idaho knows what that is. Don't get me wrong Idaho has its own beauty to offer, just nothing like this.

Tacoma water front..water, water, water.....YAY! Real lakes, real ocean!!

Glass museum....pretty much any kind of museum....Seattle Art Museum, science center, oh there are lots I won't list them all....

TRAFFIC! For those of you who thought Rexburg had traffic, HA!

Not that in any way do I miss traffic, but its a part of moving to the big town. So there is the lame traffic (above) and there is the pretty traffic (below).

Fabulous Sea Food, really fabulous food, I mean the restauants our endless....good bye to the lame option of Applesbees in Rexburg (well may I add that that is a lame option anywhere....its like fast food sit down style) or Jakers in Twin...however I might on occasion miss the Sandpiper or Cellar of Idaho Falls, but I am sure I can find places better! So clam chowder here I come, Halibut, crab, shrimp, yum yum yum.

Overcast days, rain, fog, rain, no sun, rain, rain, did I mention rain. I am going to have to get use to that again. I guess rain is the price we pay for such green beauty!

Northwest Trek, a classic as a kid. We took Braden here on one of our trips home already so he is already prepared for the future excitement of tram rides. LOL

Daffodil parade....I played the flute in jr. high in this parade for three years, and then danced in it for two...what can I say I like to be part of the action.

So to all of you who already get to live in this great part of the world if you have not experienced the great things of this area (and there are about a zillion more I didn't list....) get out there and enjoy where you live! After being away for school then brian's school I am even more grateful for the part of the world I was born in. I was surrounded by so many fun things to do, eat, and see....I didn't realize until moving away how great it was.

Oh and this is the State Capital....we are moving just next door to the town of Lacey.

First Pumpkin Treat of the Season....

Today we finished up our glass pumpkins we started on Saturday as one of our October projects. Braden had a good time "painting" he actually did pretty well, but eventually got bored with the glass and so he painted on paper too. See the concentration while loading his brush with more paint.

Here are our finished projects...after like 4 coats of paint...next time I will be spray painting these. Braden's is the little one with the face of course. We added a few embellishments to complete our project...just used some decorative wire that I had and some green fabric scraps. I guess I should get a pic of them all lit up....I took Braden in the bathroom to show him they glow.

As one of our projects between conference sessions we painted with chocolate pudding...very yummy. Braden thought that was cool. He always wants me to draw trains and spell our names. This time we just did letters for each of our names.

Of course I didn't take a picture of it while it was not painted. So this little chair was made by Brian's Grandpa, Braden's Great Grandpa; however, it was not painted or stained. So we decided to paint it up to match Braden's room. This is just one of our fun projects from conference weekend. I had to have things for us to do together since Brian is in Washington and Braden needed to have some fun things to do so I could enjoy listening to conference. It worked out pretty well. I just spray painted it (love spray paint, no brush strokes), then I applied a clear coat for extra protection. Finally, we used some craft bond to add a few finishing touches. I just cut these out of a flat sheet that came with his bedding. What two year old uses a flat sheet.

Attempting Spooners

So we started out the day ready pick out a pumpkin at Spooners, unfortunately we were a week early and the pumpkins were not out yet...how very sad to me because we were headed back to Idaho the next day so we wouldn't get to take Braden to the "pumpkin patch." So instead we headed to the Farmer's Market in downtown Puyallup. Since that was not such a kid friendly idea we ended up at the park playing and eating the yummy food from the market. It was such a lovely day...Brian was not very happy I made him wear a long sleeve shirt...however it was the only thing that matched the rest of us. See we were supposed to be at the pumpkin patch....fall family pics...so we just took a quick one on this mini bench Braden found. Say cheese.

Don't you love how Emmitt's head is as big, well maybe bigger than Braden's. Love my chubby cheeked little boy.

Ferry Ride and a Burger

Braden was really wanting to ride on a boat so we took a ferry ride up to Seattle and then ate at this little burger place called Zips. Apparently it had amazing burgers....we shall see.

Emmitt's first hair cut

So Emmitt is only 3 1/2 months old but he had super long hair on the top and then this little tuff of hair, kind of like a mullet on the back...so since I am in no way attached to my child's hair he got his first little hair cut by Auntie Meg. He looks SO much better with a trim. You can just see how much he enjoyed this, ahhh sweet little Emmitt never crys but he didn't appreciate this much. Maybe it was the buzzing cause he doesn't love loud noises.

Okay not such great pics here....but these two. So it is rainy outside but they really want to go outside in Grammy's backyard to see the "nemo" fish and the mommy rock. There is a pond with fish in it and since they are orange they are automatically categorized as nemo fish. Then there is this giant rock that they just sit on and they call it the mommy rock. Brian played with them outside forever and they just sat and sat on this rock who knew they could stay in one place for so long. These two were best buds before they came down to earth because they just love each other. Sometimes we still have to work on the sharing and such but they were so excited to see each other every day we were there. Oh and the pics....so Braden likes to take his backpack everywhere and so Kaylee came over with her own backpack one day (like braden's she said). How cute!

Trip to Washington "Doin' the Puyallup"

So this is us doin' the Puyallup! We were really excited to take Braden since he loved the rides at the Twin Falls fair. And I was excited to do my favorite part of the fair....EAT!! So that night Brian and I went without the boys and went with David, Megan, Lance, and my Dad. Brian and I shared everything so we could try more things. My favorite is the corn!! But we did enjoy a burger that one best burger at the fair and it was the BEST burger! So here are a few photos of Braden and Kaylee enjoying the rides together....should have taken more of everyone else...but the kids are so fun when they get so excited...oh and that includes David he was such a good uncle. We love you David!!

Twin Falls County Fair

We went to the Twin Falls County Fair on Friday! Braden had so much fun seeing the animals and riding on the rides. Now he's ready to "Do the Puyallup" next week....yippeee. Nothing tops the Puayllup Fair. We met up with our friends the Wells, for the petting zoo and rides!

To end the night we grabbed a milk shake at "Shake Out"...the best milkshakes I have ever tasted!! Too bad I couldn't eat one, but I did sneak a bite of Brian's and Braden's.
Now we are ready for the Puyallup Fair, only one more week!

Emmitt 3 months: Sept. 5th

Pretty much I just couldn't pick one of these pics...I have got to find the charger for my little camera cause all my pics end of being on my handy iPhone...so they aren't fabulous. But Emmitt sure is super cute, chubby cheeks and all! We love you Emmitt!

So let's see he is still eating every 2.5 to 3 hours, can't wait until solid foods!! Only one more month and we will start with the ABCs: applesauce, bananas and cereal!! He naps 3-4 times a day and sleeps through the night a lot of the time, if not than he only wakes up once to eat. What a good little baby you are! He gives lots of smiles and giggles. He loves to suck on his fingers and I think he almost realized he has toes today.

So today while helping me peel boiled eggs Braden says, "Mom be REALLY quiet Emmitt sleeping, not wake him up, OK!" I just thought it was super funny, and quite a long sentence for a two year old. He said this because I was cracking the egg and apparently making a lot of noise.
